Individual Therapy

Following an initial confidential chat, we will work together to find positive pathways forward. My approach is tailored to you, as I seek to work in step with a persons needs and apply the relevant tools, resources and healing processes that the person needs. Giving time to hear your story and understanding your own distinct journey allows me to work with the unique individual that you are. This involves working in the present but also being able to explore past trauma and where this may contribute to being stuck or simply struggling.

Recovery

Many of us have arrived in life with numerous coping mechanisms which have helped to get us here, but have reached the end of their ability to serve us. It can feel like they are failing us or working against us. Coping mechanisms are often learned in our developmental years or through trauma, to help us cope with the absence of things we needed and the presence of those things none of us wish to experience. They are to get us through a crisis, they are survival skills but surviving is not the same as living. Sometimes we need to find out how to feel safe and confident in the here and now.

Gaz Kishere has been working in people caring contexts for more than 30 years. Having worked in organisations and with individuals, it has given him a good breadth of understanding of the challenges with Life, Work and Relationships. He is keen to help people deconstruct toxic environments and recognises that this may be within family, friendships, the workplace or even a persons life limiting belief systems. The desire is to help you achieve healthy independence and a renewed sense of self. Burn out, stress, conflicts and feeling down, are all an opportunity for a deeper work, growth and confidence.

I connected with Gaz at a chaotic time in my life when I had been thrust into carrying roles and responsibilities I did not want, and was dealing with extreme levels of stress. Gaz was brilliant at helping me to process what was going on for me. He helped me rediscover my voice and the agency I do have even in the many times I felt powerless. He also, very sensitively, helped me identify past trauma that had been triggered by current events. He helped me to understand what was happening through a different, but very helpful lens. In a relatively short space of time, I’m feeling more positive and better able to cope. The situation hasn’t changed much, but I have!

Connecting with and working with Gaz has been a great and rewarding experience. He committed an extensive amount of time guiding me from a state of chaos to a place of better self regulation, calm and release of past trauma. Not only did he work with me individually, he worked with my partner for both individual and couple sessions to strengthen our relationship too. If you’re looking for a therapist who will offer patience and guidance for just about any issue, Gaz is your guy. He was also incredibly flexible with our time and scheduling which made therapy convenient and realistic for busy life anywhere in the world.

I have started my journey with Garry a little more than a year ago and he has been a bright light during a dark time! 🤩I have reached out to Garry during an intense burnout and he has helped me through that and many more stressful times. He is brilliant and very easy to talk to. I always felt comfortable to talk to him about everything, and he always knows the right questions to ask. Garry is an amazing listener and he always leave space for self-exploration and self-reflection. He has kept supporting me after my burnout and helped me explore more in depth other aspects of my life. Thanks to our sessions I have learned how to use tools to process and deal with daily situations, and improve my mental health. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who is having a hard time, and I am forever grateful and happy for our journey together!

I came to Garry in a time when I really need help to process Anxiety. He put processes in place to help with the anxiety and then helped me process my history to work through grief and trauma in a really healthy and helpful way. I would highly recommend Garry to anyone who needs help working it out!

I agree with everything people said on previous reviews. I found Gaz a very safe and containing person, someone who really tried to hear what I said and who was also able to pay attention to what I didn’t say. He always checked things out and didn’t make assumptions or generalisations His wisdom, his gentle humour, his skill in navigating the connections between thought patterns, behaviours and mental well being and his ability to challenge when needed were extremely helpful in clarifying issues for me and keeping things positively moving forward. I would thoroughly recommend Gaz as a therapist.

I have never felt as understood or as in-tune with a mentor as I do with Gaz. We have worked together over the years, often in a pastoral capacity, but more recently via a structured and goal orientated approach. It has been great to go back to the basics, try to answer some seemingly simple questions but discover some very complicated answers. A strength of Gaz' is to keep us focused on a particular challenge or area of growth, whilst allowing for the flexibility needed to allow the conversation to lead wherever it needs to. I would strongly recommend Gaz to anyone who feels stuck in life or feels as if there are decisions that need to be made, even if it is unclear what these are.

I have been been supported by Garry for many years now, and this experience has been transformative in many ways. His approach is sensitive and humble, allowing a space for self-reflection and offering practical techniques which can be utilised as part of a daily practice or to implement at 'crisis' points. Garry is a wonderful listener and has the grounding and diverse experience in order to understand, empathise and guide. I highly recommend working with Garry.

Garry's thoughtful and empathetic nature, along with insightful questions has enabled me to process what is going on in my head on many occasions. If your stuck then I highly recommend you utilise his expertise and experience to help you untangle what is going on in your life and move forward.

Refreshing. Open. Real. Encouraging. Dynamic. Kind. Resourcing. Just some of the words that immediately come to mind when I think about being witnessed and held by Gaz over the last few months. There are not many people where I believe I can bring my whole self to and be openly received by but Gaz is one of them. Very grateful for all the support, wisdom and widening perspectives. Thank you!

Gary is an absolute gem. A friend recommended I find him when I was having a hard time - burnout and flashbacks and all kinds of stressful stuff. Gaz supported me through fortnightly sessions (some online and some in person). They were calming and healing - and it was super easy to talk to him about anything. He’s sensitive, relatable and friendly. He also helped me understand a bunch of stuff that was hard for me to see myself. And many of the tools and ways of thinking that he provided me with stay with me and help me (and those around me) long after we stopped our sessions. I’d really recommend getting in touch with Gaz if you’re going through a rough patch, have some things you’re trying to work out, or are looking to be able to look after yourself better for whatever reason

I really value Garry's way of asking interesting and pertinent questions to help me understand and work through patterns of behaviour and thought and what is underlying them. I feel his genuine interest and curiosity in helping to explore what is going on, and would really recommend Garry as someone to talk to and work with in this way.

Garry's approach, along with his kind and understanding nature, allowed me to open up and understand myself in a way that, previously, I was unable to. He worked through different aspects of my life and feelings and managed to ask me all the right questions to provoke the relevant thought processes. I really feel much better in myself and know myself better since my sessions with Garry. He is a wonderful person and his life experience really shows and makes it easy for you to tell him anything without feeling judged! I highly recommend him!
